About the Film

'Living With the Land' is a documentary about people who use what is naturally in their environment in their everyday lives. Subjects include an environmental artist, a forager, woodworkers, an archaeologist/trapper, and a systems engineer. Learn about wild food and medicine, making tools from bone, creating art from found natural objects, having fun building furniture, and designing a modern off-the grid home.


About the Director

Director Aleshia Mueller (Reel Nomad Productions) has the skills and commitment to realize a creative vision from script to screen. Her work includes narrative films, commercials, documentaries, music and travel videos, and television. She likes to collaborate with people who are interested in the arts, global issues, and the common good.

'Living With the Land' is an official selection of the Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival. It will screen at the St Anthony Main theater at 5:10PM on Monday, April 22, 2013 - Earth day.


'Living With the Land'  composer Brent Michael Davids presented a sneak peak of the film at the Comanche Nation Film Festival in Lawton Oklahoma where he taught a workshop on how to score for film. November 2012.


"Off the Grid" received two awards in the CERTs Green Video Contest: "Second Place" and "Most Informative."“Off the Grid” is a  “Living with the Land” teaser that profiles Christian Milaster, a systems engineer who practices sustainable living and renewable energy comfortably.
